In February and in June 2019 the Troutdale Chapter of the OPA hosted a Boy Scouts Aviation Day Event. We had a great turnout.
In February the weather conditions kept us from giving the Boy Scouts rides, but a follow up event in June made up for that.
In February, the Boy Scouts got to see a static display of aircraft and had a tour of the Troutdale tower.
They also learned about how to preflight an aircraft and what makes an airplane fly.
At the June event, everyone present got to go on a flight in the area. Even the adults who were present.
We are so thankful to the members who took the time to teach and fly the Boy Scouts who came to learn more about aviation.
It was a huge success. The Chapter looks forward to doing more events like this in the future.
